About Vaping……..

An electronic cigarette is an alternative to smoked tobacco products like regular cigarettes, cigars and pipes. It is a battery powered device, which allows nicotine to be inhaled by the user in a vaporised solution rather than a burnt one.

The vapour also provides a flavour which can simulate a tobacco taste or an alternative flavour such as fruits and delicacies. Not only is a flavour produced, but also a vapour is exhaled which looks similar to the smoke produced from an ordinary tobacco cigarette. When the vapour hits the back of your throat, you still get that satisfying hit! This makes it an almost identical experience to smoking an ordinary cigarette. There is no fire involved when using an electronic cigarette, which means it bypasses the laws surrounding smoking indoors. This has however, become a controversial area, with many different rules being set in individual places. So please take note of the rules of using e-cigarettes in public places.

Electronic cigarettes are a new way for those who smoke tobacco products to regulate their intake of nicotine by choosing an e liquid with a nicotine strength suitable for them (none, low, medium, high), as well as avoiding the consumption of almost 100% of the harmful materials found in smoked tobacco products such as carbon monoxide, arsenic and acetone. An electronic cigarette is the best tobacco alternative on the market today.

How is E-Liquid measured?

Low 12mg: We usually recommend this strength as a base for people starting out on e cigarettes. If you smoke around 10 cigarettes per day, this strength is suitable for you. Throat hit will be noticeable.

Medium 18mg: If you smoke a pack a day, we recommend going with this strength. We recommend keeping a lower strength on hand if you like to puff your e cigarette all day (like me) to avoid over doing it. Throat hit will be strong.

High 24mg: This strength should be consumed by individuals smoking over 20 high strength cigarettes a day. If you like getting your fix in a short window of time, this strength may suit you. Throat hit will be very strong.

Lower strengths are available like 6 and 3mg.. These are mainly used in powerful devices and sub-tanks that give a huge direct lung hit so require a much lower nicotine level or for people that have successfully quit smoking and have been gradually lowering the nicotine content in their juices. To give yourself the best chance of quitting smoking we recommend starting with one of our starter kits that give a mouth to lung inhale (more similar to smoking than sub-tanks) with at least a 12mg liquid.

Are there any reasons not to use a e-cigarette?

Electronic cigarettes should not be used by anyone who falls into one more of the following categories;

  • Anyone under the age of 18

  • Anyone allergic to nicotine or nicotine based products

  • Anyone who suffers from heart disease

  • Anyone with high blood pressure

  • Anyone with a weak immune system

  • Anyone pregnant

  • Anyone allergic to propylene glycol or any other ingredients in e liquid

Is it true that I can use my e-cigarette anywhere?

In the UK, the use of electronic cigarettes is currently unrestricted by law which means that you are allowed to use an electronic cigarette anywhere, however many places have introduced their own rules surrounding the use of e-cigs in public places. Within the smoking ban that is currently taking place in a number of countries, ‘smoking’ is defined as “smoking refers to smoking tobacco or anything which contains tobacco, or smoking any other substance and smoking includes being in possession of lit tobacco or of anything lit which contains tobacco, or being in possession of any other lit substance in a form in which it could be smoked.” This means that anyone using an electronic cigarette is not breaking the law as electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco, is not lit and does not produce smoke.

What are replaceable coils (atomiser heads)?

Most decent clearomisers/tanks will have replaceable coils. Instead of replacing your clearomiser every time they get old or start tasting bad you can simply replace the coil.

How does it work?

An electronic cigarette works by the user inhaling on the electronic cigarette which causes the atomiser to turn on and heat the e liquid. The atomiser heats the e liquid into a vapour so that the user can inhale it. When exhaled, a glycol based vapour is released to resemble the smoke from an analogue cigarette.
